NOTICE:

The Play Ball! Baseball Scorebook has sold out its second printing and is currently out of print. At this point, we are no longer taking orders for the book. Plans for a third printing have not been finalized. Details will be posted at this site when they are known, so feel free to check back periodically.

Welcome to the home of Play Ball!, the high quality scorebook for the serious baseball fan. I'd like to thank all the folks who have helped make the scorebook such a success, as the first printing sold out in only six months. For newcomers, the good news is that a second edition, published in October 2001, is now available.

I've always enjoyed keeping score while watching baseball games, but I became frustrated after trying all the scorebooks on the market and finding serious flaws in each of them so I decided to create my own. At first I only made a couple of books for my own use, but several people told me it was the best-designed scorecard they’d seen, and encouraged me to begin selling them. And so they are now available by mail order, with a portion of the proceeds going to worthy charities.

EACH SCOREBOOK FEATURES:

bullet120 scoresheets, enough for 60 full games -- twice as many as most scorebooks. Scorebook size is 8˝ by 11˝ inches.
bulletAn introduction with instructions on how to keep score.
bulletA top-bound spiral makes it easy for both left- and right-handed scorers, and a heavy-duty cardboard backing makes it convenient to take to the ballpark.
bulletDiamonds inside each square for those who use the diamond scoring method. (And for those who don’t, the diamonds are light enough to be easily written over.)
bulletSpace for keeping track of outs, RBI, extra base hits, stolen bases, and many other statistical categories.
bulletAmple space for substitutions, so you can avoid the confusing crossed-out names that plague most scorebooks.
bulletMade specifically for baseball, it eliminates wasted space by listing only nine spots in the batting order, instead of 16 like the softball scorebooks sold in most sporting goods stores.
bulletPerhaps best of all, the scorebook is available with four different cover designs, each a reproduction of a classic 19th century baseball woodcut. Pick one of these four ballpark illustrations:
bulletCongress Street Grounds, Chicago, Illinois
bulletElysian Fields, Hoboken, New Jersey (sold out)
bulletSt. George Grounds, Staten Island, New York
bulletWomen Playing Baseball, Peterboro, NY (sold out)
